Ed Moseley is proof that it is never too late to learn something new. This 86–year-old Atlanta man taught himself to knit after his assisted living facility challenged residents to create warm hats for the preemies at a nearby hospital. After getting a knitting kit from his daughter, Moseley spent hours making 55 colorful caps for the infants. He even held classes for the other residents, and more than300 hand-knitted caps were delivered to the neonatal unit. MERRY CHRISTMAS ED MOSELEY!!!

Creative Way for Students to Get Rid of Excess Energy in Class
In my “born and raised in” state of North Carolina, a Middle-school teacher keeps her fidgety students focused in class by putting bike pedals underneath their desks. Grades have gone up and discipline problems have dropped since her students at Martin Middle School began pedaling their way through Math class!

Olympic Hearts of Gold
Abbey D’Agostino and Nikki Hamblin didn’t win any medals at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, but they showed the world they have hearts of gold. The U.S. and New Zealand runners were competing in the 5,000-meter qualifying heat last week when Hamblin accidentally clipped D’Agostino, causing both women to tumble. D’Agostino got up, but rather than run off, she helped the dazed New Zealander to her feet. The pair raced on, but D’Agostino had injured her leg and fell again. Hamblin helped the American up, giving away her medal chances, and the athletes crossed the finish line together. “I’m never going to forget that moment,” said Hamblin.

"Go" to Jail
THE WEEK magazine printed that it was
a bad week for crooks with smartphones. It seems that the Manchester, New

headquarters, and invited a list of 500 people to catch it. All 500 are wanted
fugitives!

Facebook or Chocolate?
The same brain circuits that are activated by eating chocolate and winning money are activated when teenagers see large numbers of “likes” on their own photos or the photos of peers in a social network, according to a first-of-its-kind UCLA study that scanned teens’ brains while using social media.
I don't know about you, but I'll go for the chocolate every time!

Sorry Bill...can't use you in my introductions anymore... :(
Bill Cosby has just been ordered by a Pennsylvania judge to
stand trial for sexual assault charges. Well, there goes my biggest claim to
fame in my stand-up comedy career.
I opened for Bill Cosby several years ago and enjoyed having
that fact mentioned in subsequent introductions.

Former Homeless Man Donates $10,000 To High School After Two Students Helped Him In A Blizzard
Three years ago, two seniors at Dwight Township High School in Dwight, Illinois, helped a homeless man walking in a blizzard with no jacket.
The students – Ryan Kodat and Luke Arnold – gave the man clothes, a jacket and money for a train ticket to Springfield so he could see his father. The man's father later passed away.
Unbeknownst to the man, Wade Herter, his father left behind an estate of $1.2 million. Herter has since moved to Santa Monica, California, but not without sending a gift to Dwight High School.
On Feb. 26, the school received a letter from Herter and a donation of $10,000.
The Superintendent, Dr. Richard Jancek, asked the board to consider giving two students, in each graduating class for the next 10 years, $500 awards for acts of humanitarianism. The board gladly agreed and soon the school will post on its website an application form for students to apply for the awards.
But the lasting impression from the good deed that started all of this, according to Jancek, is that Kodat and Arnold expected nothing in return.
Jancek spoke to Kodat recently.
"He said, 'You don't have to put my name on anything. We did it because it was the right thing to do, not to get an award. If the same thing happened tomorrow, we'd do it again'."

4 Rituals That Will Make You Happy
1. The most important question to ask when you feel down: "Why?"
Guilt, shame, and worry are horrible long-term solutions. Instead ask "What am I grateful for?" Gratitude works better than many anti-depressants!
2. Label negative feelings
You feel awful. Okay, give that awfulness a name. Sad? Anxious? Angry? Don't suppress…EXPRESS! Meditation has employed this for centuries. Labeling is a fundamental tool of mindfulness.
3. Make that decision
Brain science shows that making decisions reduces worry and anxiety — as well as helping you solve problems.
4. Touch Someone!
One of the primary ways to release oxytocin is through touching. Touching someone you love actually reduces pain. Research shows getting five hugs a day for four weeks increases happiness big time.

Plumbers to the rescue!
Since Flint, Michigan's water has been tainted with lead for several months now, residents have been struggling find clean drinking water. In response to the crisis, 300 volunteer plumbers showed up to help out. On Saturday alone, plumbers replaced faucets and filters in 800 homes. Plumbing Manufacturers International donated the faucets, which cost about $100 a pop according to ABC12, which is a price tag many residents of Flint cannot afford. It so good to see that there are so many good-hearted plumbers out there that stepped up to help out people in need!
